Is Mike Evans a Free Agent? 3 Potential Landing Spots If Buccaneers WR Hits the Market

Mike Evans has spent upwards of a decade at Tampa Bay now. The six-time Pro Bowler joined the Buccaneers in 2014, when they selected him as the seventh overall pick of that year’s draft. He’s more than a staple of the team at this point in time, having been a key member of the roster that won Super LV under Tom Brady’s leadership.

Now, he’s about to enter the free agency market as a UFA, and it doesn’t seem like he’s set to resign with his long-term team. Here are the most likely places where he could end up.

Top 3 Potential Landing Spots for Mike Evans

    #3 Tennessee Titans

God knows the Tennessee Titans need a revamp after their extremely disappointing 2025 season. While they received an upgrade at quarterback with Cam Ward after last year’s draft, the truth is that the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft was afforded few weapons to work with.

Getting a talented veteran like Mike Evans would fix that. They also enter the offseason with the biggest cap space, which puts them in prime position. However, Evans could be worried about what has happened to other veteran receivers who have ended up at Tennessee, like Julio Jones and Randy Moss.

    #2 Houston Texans

This is a move that would be safer for Evans in regard to the team’s potential. The Texans have a proven starter in CJ Stroud, but they could certainly use the help in their receiving corps.

Evans could be persuaded to return to his home state, where he also played college football at Texas A&M. If he does join Houston, the team could turn into one of the best offenses in the league. Having the best statistical defense in the NFL, the Texans would be prime candidates to make a Super Bowl run this season.

    #1 Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been searching for a while now for the final piece of their puzzle that allows them to reach the Super Bowl. Despite having arguably the best quarterback in the league in Josh Allen, they always fall short in the postseason.

Mike Evans could be the final piece of the puzzle in the Allen-orchestrated offense. Given Evans’ status as a veteran, the team could get him off a short-term deal that doesn’t eat up their cap in the long run.
