“That Is Nasty”: When Mike Vrabel Roasting Dianna Russini Triggered NFL Reporter’s Response During “50 Seconds for Your 50th” Exchange

Dianna Russini sat down with Mike Vrabel in August 2025 for a short, fast Q&A called “50 seconds for his 50th birthday.”

During the chat, Russini tried to make things fun after a serious conversation. She joked about doing a quick round of questions in 50 seconds. Vrabel played along and laughed when there was no real clock.

At one point, Russini joked, “Can I borrow your whistle?”

Vrabel replied, “No one wants this thing”

Russini laughed and said, “That is nasty.”

The throwback video has surfaced while new photos of Vrabel and Russini were published by Page Six on April 23, showing both of them at a bar called Tribeca Tavern in New York City.

They appeared to kiss in the pictures, which are from March 11, 2020. At the time, Vrabel was the Titans’ head coach and had been married for over 20 years with Jennifer Vrabel. Meanwhile, Russini was with ESPN.

It all started on April 7, when Page Six published photos of Vrabel and Russini at an adults-only luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. The photos were from March 28.

After the pictures went viral, Vrabel called the cheating rumors “laughable” and Russini claimed she was there with a “group of friends.”

On April 14, Russini resigned from The Athletic after an internal investigation by The New York Times (their parent company) found she could not provide evidence of the friends she claimed were in Sedona.

On April 21, Vrabel opened up at a press conference, admitting to “difficult conversations” with his family but still downplaying the nature of the relationship.

Just hours before these 2020 photos came out, Vrabel said he would miss Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft to focus on his family and get counselling.

The New England Patriots have confirmed that while Vrabel is away for counselling this weekend, personnel executives Eliot Wolf and Ryan Cowden will run the draft room for the final rounds.

Dianna Russini’s Son Shares Name With Mike Vrabel

Dianna Russini and her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt (an executive at Shake Shack), have two sons, and their firstborn is named Michael.

Born on Aug. 8, 2021, he was her first child. Michael was born about a year after she and Goldschmidt married in 2020.

Their second child, Joseph “Joey” Kevin Goldschmidt was born in October 2022. He was named after Dianna’s late grandfather.

In a 2021 clip from ESPN’s Get Up, Russini joked that she was “married to someone average.”

She added that if she had married someone “beautiful,” she would “over-post” him on social media, but because they were “average together,” she did not.

She ended the segment by saying, “I need to really stop killing my husband on television. I’m going to be divorced by Christmas.”
