WATCH: Micah Parsons Goes Nuts in the Crowd as Penn State Hockey Star Converts

Micah Parsons recently made a public appearance, supporting his alma mater’s hockey team. The Green Bay Packers’ season ended in the Wild Card Round against the Chicago Bears in humiliating fashion.

But Parsons was out way before the Packers made it to the playoffs. So, with more free time on his hands, the defensive end showed up to the Penn State Nittany Lions’ hockey game tonight.

Parsons represented the Nittany Lions football team from 2018 to 2020 and became a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. His love for his alma mater runs deep, and Parsons also happens to be a big hockey fan.

Big Ten Network’s official X handle posted a video of Parsons in the stands, enjoying the game. He was very pumped up when JJ Wiebusch scored an equalizing goal against Wisconsin. Parsons was seen high-fiving people around him.

He wore the number 11 jersey to the game, which is the same number that he used to wear in the Nittany Lions football team. Parsons also visited the team’s locker room before the game and took pictures with the players.

Parsons is also spending a lot of time on social media now that he doesn’t have any professional commitments lined up ahead. He is making good use of that time by interacting with fans and trolling other teams.

When the Chicago Bears, the team that eliminated the Packers, got knocked out of the playoffs against the Rams, Parsons took to X and welcomed the Bears team to Cancun.

It’s a long-running joke across different sports. Whenever a team gets eliminated from the season, they’re assumed to be Cancun-bound, as it happens to be a good spot for vacation.

Micah Parsons is a DPOY Finalist

Parsons’ season was over on December 17. Three days before that, he suffered a non-contact knee injury against the Denver Broncos. Parsons didn’t return to the field while his team went on to lose the game 26-34.

It was reported that he had suffered a torn ACL, which was season-ending, and Parsons was put on injured reserve. Despite the setback, his season contribution to the Packers’ run was recognized recently.

The defensive end was named among the five finalists for the Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The winner will be announced on February 5.
