“CJ Stroud Welcome To Miami”: Fans Abuzz As Dolphins Hire Former Texans OC To Jeff Hafley’s Staff

A new position hiring in Miami has led some fans to believe CJ Stroud might soon join the Dolphins. Stroud was the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and has done well since being drafted as the quarterback.

The Dolphins, on the other hand, have struggled a lot in recent years. They have made just three playoff appearances since 2008, and two of the three appearances have happened in the last four years.

After yet another disastrous season, the Dolphins fired head coach Mike McDaniel and replaced him with Jeff Hafley. He was announced as the Dolphins’ head coach on January 19. Now, it’s time for Hafley to build his team.

Promoting Bobby Slowik to the offensive coordinator role is one of his biggest moves so far. He was previously the senior passing game coordinator.

“The #Dolphins are hiring Bobby Slowik as their new OC under HC Jeff Hafley. Slowik, who was once the #Texans OC, spent this last season in Miami with Mike McDaniel and now gets a promotion under the new regime,” Jordan Schultz reported.

In response, some fans started assuming that the Texans’ connection of the new Dolphins OC will help bring Stroud to Miami.

“CJ Stroud welcome to Miami,” a fan wrote.

“The Green Bay connection continues in a different way. The Miami Dolphins first made the move to hire former Packers exec. Jon-Eric Sullivan as GM. Then, they hired former Packers DC Jeff Hafley as HC. Now, MIA makes the move to hire OC Bobby Slowik, who went to H.S. in GB,” a fan wrote.

“Miami got a good one. Def deserves a second shot and was clearly wrongly fired in Houston,” a fan wrote.

“In Houston under Bobby Slowik he made CJ Stroud the rookie of the year. Roll the dice with Bobby Slowik this year and reevaluate after this season and plan accordingly. Im good with the hire. He is going to coach his players hard. He knows the roster. He is a better OC than McD…” a fan wrote.

“Didn’t they run this guy out of Houston,” a fan wrote.

“Why though? Miami sucked last year,” a fan wrote.

It’s too early to assume any major transfer from Houston to Miami because of Slowik.

Dan Orlovsky Apologized to CJ Stroud

After the Texans’ season was over, Dan Orlovsky claimed that the franchise could’ve won with any other quarterback in his position. At the time, he received a lot of criticism for his comment, as it diminished Stroud’s value as a QB.

Recently, Orlovsky acknowledged that he crossed a line with his statement and apologized to Stroud.

“I want to publicly apologize to CJ Stroud. I crossed the line. I don’t ever want to do that in this role,” he said.

Orlovsky took full accountability for his words and stated that he shouldn’t have done it.
