Maxx Crosby would’ve been with the Baltimore Ravens if it weren’t for the failed physical. The 28-year-old star defensive end was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019 as their fourth-round pick and has been with the Raiders since.
Crosby was slated to join the Baltimore Ravens in a trade that would’ve given the Raiders two first-round picks. On March 7, the Ravens and the Raiders mutually agreed to trade the defensive end.
Three days later, the Ravens backed out of the agreement after Crosby failed his physical. This decision has sent shockwaves across the football world as it’d have been one of the biggest trades of the year.
Amid all the chaos, Crosby’s agent, CJ LaBoy, released a statement. He stated that Crosby was on track in his recovery.
“Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache. Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons,” he wrote.
Crosby’s wife, Rachel, reposted LaBoy’s statement on her Instagram story with a strong message in support of her husband.
“Say it louder,” she wrote.

Crosby is also celebrating six years of sobriety today. Rachel posted a picture of the Raiders star on Instagram and wrote:
“Our man is 6 years sober. None of this could of happened if you didn’t check yourself into rehab 6 years ago. We are proud of you daily! Your hard work and dedication doesn’t ever go unnoticed. Ella and I love you so much baby!”

With the decision made by the Ravens, Crosby’s future now hangs in the balance. The Raiders will have to make a call on whether they want to extend his tenure or find another team for him.
Maxx Crosby’s Injury History
For years, Crosby has been one of the best defensive ends in the NFL. One of the things that makes him a reliable player for any team is his consistency. Crosby has stayed healthy for most of his career and rarely misses games.
Over the last two years, however, he has been dealing with multiple injuries. He suffered with high ankle sprain in 2024 and had to undergo season ending surgery. He played just 12 games in that season.
In 2025, he suffered multiple knee injuries and had to undergo surgery for a permanent fix. He missed the last two games of the season. His agent is trying to assure people that Crosby is headed in the right direction. But for now, the failed medical is going to cause trouble for him.
