‘Could Not Be More Proud’: Tua Tagovailoa’s Wife Annah Drops Heartwarming Message As $45M QB Gets Released by the Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins recently made a huge announcement that they will release their veteran quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, after the start of the new league year. This is being seen as a part of Miami’s rebuilding phase.

Tua was the first round, fifth overall pick by the Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft. In six seasons, he reached several individual milestones and collected awards, but never saw any postseason success with the Dolphins.

The Miami franchise only made the postseason twice, in 2022 and 2023. The 28-year-old was unhappy with the direction the team was headed. The Dolphins’ announcement didn’t come as a shock to the fans.

Tua’s wife, Annah, who has been with him every step of the way, dropped a heartwarming message for the quarterback on Instagram. She reposted Tua’s video on her Instagram story with the caption:

“I love you so much and could not be more proud of you.”

The Dolphins have hired Jeff Hafley to coach the team starting next season. Hafley has been making moves to strengthen the team, and by cutting Tagovailoa, Miami will absorb an NFL-record $99.2 million in dead money. Miami still owes Tua $54 million in guaranteed money.

The quarterback was vocal about the problems within the organization. In October last year, when the Dolphins lost to the Chargers, Tua blasted the team during a press conference for their casual attitude.

“I think it starts with the leadership and helping articulate that for the guys and then what we’re expecting out of the guys,” he said. “We have guys showing up to players-only meetings late, guys not showing up to players-only meeting.”

There’s no denying that the 28-year-old will be a valuable addition for many teams. It’ll be interesting to see where he goes next.

Tua Tagovailoa’s Emotional Farewell to the Dolphins

Tua posted a lengthy message on Instagram, thanking everyone from the organization, teammates, coaches, and the fans. He thanked the Miami franchise for believing in him and keeping him for six years.

“From the moment I arrived, you believed in me, supported me, and embraced my family as your own. I was able to marry my wife and welcome both my kids to this world. I was able to fortunately allow them to experience life from one I never got to growing up,” he wrote.

Tua stated that wearing the jersey and representing the Dolphins was one of the greatest joys of his life. He thanked the fans for their “energy, loyalty, and passion.” He is leaving with the bitter feeling of knowing that he couldn’t deliver what they expected from him.
