“Hates Taking Care of His Special Needs Kid”: Geno Smith Faces Domestic Violence Allegations In Social Media Posts

After spending a year in Las Vegas, Geno Smith made the switch to the East Coast, signing a deal with the New York Jets this offseason. However, the veteran quarterback’s offseason took a major twist on Sunday.

On Father’s Day, a woman accused Smith of domestic abuse and neglecting his alleged child through an Instagram story on her account, @everythingkrisxo. The story showed a video of the Jets quarterback shirtless while the accusations were laid out in text over it.

Smith could also be heard talking to someone on the phone, saying, “She’s called the police.”

    The caption read:
“Today is the DAY! GENO SMITH beat my a** cause he HATES taking care of his special needs kid and can’t be left alone with him because he’d rather watch s*x online and play Call of Duty”
Since then, the woman has posted multiple such stories explaining her claims, one of which seemingly showed Geno Smith confiscating her purse as well as her car keys to allegedly stop her from leaving his house after dropping off his son.

In another story, she confirmed that she is not the mother of Smith’s son and that she was being “supportive.”
The identity of the woman is not yet confirmed, and neither Geno Smith nor the New York Jets have made any statements addressing the allegations, as of this writing.

Geno Smith’s Plans to Get In Shape Ahead of 2026 Season

While the 2025 season was one of the worst of Smith’s career, there is hope that a move to New York will be able to help the former second-round pick back on his feet. Smith finished last season with a 2-13 record while throwing for a career-worst 17 interceptions and 55 sacks.
The 35-year-old quarterback is already hard at work to build chemistry with his standout receivers, as evidenced by his efforts between the team’s mandatory minicamp and the official start of training camp. While players use the extra month to rest and recharge, Smith’s plans were different.

“I’ll get with some guys; we’ll definitely get together and put some work in together,” Smith said. “This is a time for guys to be at home with their families and to enjoy some time off from being inside the building, but also to work and work on your training and stuff like that.”

While Smith’s on-field preparations continue, it remains to be seen if his return to the New York Jets will be marred by his off-field issues.
