Matthew Stafford produced one of his career-best seasons at the age of 37. He took the Los Angeles Rams to the Conference Championship round, where they lost 27-31 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Despite his journey being cut short, there’s no denying that Stafford has been at the top of his game throughout the season. His overall numbers, performances when it mattered the most, and consistency have put him on the shortlist of players up for the MVP.
Stafford has the strongest case among his competitors for the MVP title. If he wins, this will be his first career MVP title win, in what has already been a legendary NFL career. Stafford is receiving support from fans who are passionately campaigning for his MVP win.
Arguably, his biggest fan, his wife Kelly, couldn’t stay far behind when the entire Stafford fanbase is chanting his name for the honor. She recently penned a heartfelt note for the quarterback on her Instagram story.
“This has been my favorite ‘football’ year .. not just because he had a great year, but this team/ organization/families were just different in the best way. So sad it ended the way it did, but damn it was the most fun I’ve ever had during a season … surrounded by incredible women off the field, while knowing he was having the time of his career with the men on that field and sideline this year,” Kelly WROTE.
Stafford is the frontrunner to win the MVP this year. He is going against Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, Drake Maye, and Christian McCaffrey, who are all shortlisted for the MVP honor.

Stafford has had a stellar NFL career spanning nearly two decades. He represented the Detroit Lions at the beginning of his career from 2009 to 2020 and then moved to Los Angeles to join the Rams in 2021.
He won his first Super Bowl trophy with the Rams and etched his name in the NFL history books. At the age of 37, rumors of Stafford’s retirement have started to gain traction. When coach Sean McVay was asked about it, he said:
“I’m keeping my fingers crossed like you guys that he still wants to go play.”
The decision is completely his. If Stafford decides to stay with the Rams for one more year, they’ll be happy to offer him that. In case he wishes to look outside, he might garner interest from teams for a short-term contract.
