The New York Giants have a new offensive coordinator: Matt Nagy. Nagy comes from a stint as the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, which started magnificently with two Super Bowl wins (Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII) but ended with mediocre offensive stats in the last two years.
Nagy’s wife, Stacey Nagy, is the coach’s high school sweetheart. Both grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Manheim Central High School. Some reports to both of them having been together since at least 1994, and they got married in 2002.
Available reports point to the fact that she was a college basketball player herself, but there are no official records of this. News reports also point to her being a small business owner. Said reports say that she is a certified personal trainer and co-owner of a fitness centre in Chicago.
Matt Nagy Is Unable To Get An HC Role
The recent coaching cycle in the NFL was the most active, possibly in the history of the league, with 10 teams changing head coaches. Despite plenty of opportunities and a massive PR campaign, Nagy was unable to become seriously considered for any of these jobs.
It’s important to remember that Nagy is already a head coach, from 2018 to 2021 with the Chicago Bears. His time with the NFC North team started in good fashion, with a 12-4 record and a Wild Card appearance. However, from then on, they never achieved double-digit wins nor a winning season, and quarterback Mitch Trubisky didn’t pan out as a reliable starter.
They made the postseason once more in 2020 with an 8-8 record, but once more fell in the Wild Card round. His stint with Kansas City was supposed to be a rehabilitation of his coaching profile, but the two Super Bowl victories didn’t seem have been enough to put him in the head coach conversations again.
