Allen, who has already achieved a lot of things after arriving in the NFL in 2018, earned the Hall of Fame shout-out from Diggs. The wide receiver told Bills fans ahead of Super Bowl LX that Allen is a “Hall of Fame quarterback” and urged fans to “keep hanging your hat on that quarterback.”
Appearing on the NFL on CBS, Allen responded to the massive respect and admiration shared by his former teammate. The quarterback reflected on their days together with the Bills, giving the respect back to the receiver.
“Yeah, full transparency, I’ve been off all social media, so I didn’t see that until you said it,” Allen said. Again, I’ve got nothing but love and respect for Steph. I mean, some of the plays that he made for us — and even continues to make now — I was watching, I think it was the Texans game, where he caught a little short post in the end zone and just hands-caught it.
The dude’s an unbelievable football player. He was a great teammate when he was here in Buffalo. And again, nothing but love and respect for him. And yeah, that’s what I’ve got to say about that. He’s an absolute stud. He’s a fantastic football player.”
Super Bowl Only Thing Missing in Josh Allen’s Potential Hall of Fame Resume
Josh Allen is coming off a divisional round playoff loss against the Denver Broncos in overtime. This marks another season where the Bills were destined for success, but they ended poorly in the postseason, that too when their playoff nemesis, the Kansas City Chiefs, were not even part of it. Over the years, Patrick Mahomes & Co. have been denying the Bills a Super Bowl appearance.
The quarterback won the NFL MVP last season and is a finalist for this season. He has earned four Pro Bowl selections and owns the record of most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single season (15, tied).
However, his Super Bowl absence will be tied closely to whether he deserves a place in the Hall of Fame.
