A few days ago, the world of football woke up to the absurd news that Bill Belichick had been passed over for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class. An important section of the fandom called out foul immediately, and more recent events point to them being right.
This Tuesday, it was revealed that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft won’t be inducted into the Hall of Fame either. Thus, the two architects of the winningest dynasty in the sport’s history won’t be inducted into its highest altar.
Fans just couldn’t take it, and they went on social media to vent out their feelings.
“What a disgrace. The hate is out of control for this franchise,” claimed one fan.
“Absolutely ridiculous. New England vs Everybody,” lamented another person.
“The NFL Hall of Fame has become the Grammys. This is a joke!” wrote another individual.
“Kraft not getting in while owning 6 Super Bowl rings is wild. What more does the man need to do? Politics clearly playing a role here,” said one person.
Most were sad to see this happening.
“This is completely unfair. Robert deserves to be in the Hall of fame class,” said someone.
Is this resentment?
“Wild that you can own six Super Bowl rings and still get passed over. The Hall has always had weird politics with owners though. Kraft transformed that franchise from irrelevant to dynasty, but voters clearly have hang-ups. Belichick getting snubbed is even crazier considering what he accomplished,” said yet another fan.
Commissioner Roger Goodell Believes Belichick And Kraft Will Be In The Hall Of Fame
Speaking on Monday, ahead of the reveal that Robert Kraft wouldn’t be inducted either, Commissioner Roger Goodell gave a statement about the Patriots and Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame situation.
“Bill Belichick’s record goes without saying, same with the Patriots and Robert Kraft, who is also a candidate,” Goodell said. “They are spectacular. They have contributed so much to this game, and I believe they will be Hall of Famers.”
His rejection by voters comes a week after he released a statement supporting Belichick’s candidature in which he called him the best coach in the history of the sport. Also, it is less than a week before the New England Patriots play in their first post-Bill Belichick era Super Bowl.
