Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was recently taken into custody by the Seminole Indian Police and was subsequently charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for trespassing. Despite being released later on Monday, Jordan spent close to 12 hours in custody while also posting a $500 cash bond.
This off-field arrest has prompted talks around his NFL future, with the Vikings having potential implications on his contract with the Minnesota-based franchise.
Addison signed a four-year deal with guaranteed pay of $13,731,736 with the Minnesota Vikings-based franchise in May 2023. He is now set to be eligible for a contract extension in 2027, after which he would become a free agent. His deal included a signing bonus of $6,986,720, while his average annual salary stands at $3,432,935.
While there is no official word yet on how this arrest might affect his on-field responsibilities with the Vikings, the situation could lead to further complications for him in the days ahead.
The 2025 regular season saw Addison post a total of 42 receptions for 610 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
What Are the Past Charges Against Jordan Addison?
Addison’s recent misdemeanor charge comes on the backdrop of the wide receiver having previous run-ins with the law.
After wrapping up his third season with the Minnesota Vikings, he ran into trouble during the offseason when he was cited for reckless driving after being caught traveling at 140 miles per hour late at night.
The issues continued for the former 2023 NFL Draft pick in August 2024, when he was arrested twice for DUI while leaving Los Angeles International Airport. He managed to avoid a formal court case by agreeing to a plea deal that downgraded the charges from DUI to recklessness, which included a 12-month probation period and a fine of $390.
With Addison’s infamous history with law enforcement, the Minnesota Vikings could perhaps reignite some of the trade rumors pertaining to the wide receiver from late 2025.
