Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was recently taken into custody by Seminole Indian Police and charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for trespassing.
Addison was released later on Monday after posting a $500 cash bond and spent less than 12 hours in custody, with the charge possibly carrying a punishment of up to 60 days in jail and/or a $500 fine.
Having been drafted 23rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Addison has faced off-the-field legal troubles during his young career in the National Football League. Following the completion of his third season with the Minnesota Vikings, Addison experienced additional legal troubles during his first offseason when he was charged with reckless driving after being caught driving 140 mph at night.
In August 2024, Addison found himself in trouble again when he was arrested twice for DUI while leaving the Los Angeles International Airport. He was able to avoid a formal court proceeding by agreeing to a plea deal that reduced the charges from a DUI to recklessness. Under the terms of this plea agreement, Addison was to serve 12 months of probation while also paying a $390 fine, along with a couple of correctional online courses.
Will Addison’s Misdemeanor Affect His $13,731,736 Contract?
After finishing the 2025 regular NFL season with an overall record of 9-8, the Vikings bowed out before they could get a playoff berth this season. Throughout the Vikings’ 2025 season, Jordan Addison tallied 42 receptions for 610 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
Also having signed a 4-year, $13,731,736 contract with the Minnesota-based franchise back in May 2023, Addison is now due an extension on his contract next year, and given his past run with the law, it will be interesting to see if Minnesota continue to have him on their roster.
His most recent incident marks the third time in Addison’s NFL career that he has encountered legal issues away from the field. While there is no confirmation on the effect of this arrest on his field duties with the Vikings, Jordan could face some complications in the days to come.
