Jaxson Dart Forced Into Drastic Move After Backlash from Donald Trump Introduction

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has received a lot of backlash after participating in POTUS Donald Trump’s rally at Rockland County last week. On Saturday, it was reported that the former Ole Miss star had to make a drastic move because of the situation on social media.

ML Football shared a post about Dart, stating that his Instagram comments section was shut down following the backlash. As per the post, the quarterback faced a lot of negativity because of his political views.

“HEARTBREAKING: #Giants star Jaxson Dart has been forced to shut off the comments on his latest IG posts because they were filled with vile comments about him. Dart introduced President Trump at a rally and has received many threats on social media,” the post read.

On Friday, after the team’s offseason practice, Jaxson Dart explained in detail why he decided to accept the opportunity to introduce Donald Trump at his rally. The quarterback explained how he respected the title of president irrespective of the political party. However, he also admitted to understanding the responsibilities as the quarterback of the New York Giants.

“My thinking was pretty simple,” Dart said. “I’ve always loved this country. I have extended family members who have fought in wars. I have two uncles who have retired from the Air Force Academy and have served themselves and I even have a great-grandfather who served as the secretary of the treasury at some point.

“So, the president position has always been a position that I’ve well respected regardless of political affiliation, regardless of political party and my intentions were just that.

“I also understand that in this world, politics can be a sensitive matter, a sensitive topic. I also understand that I’m the quarterback of the New York Giants and that involves a lot of responsibility.”

The Giants drafted Jaxson Dart with the No. 25th pick in last year’s NFL draft.

Donald Trump opens up about the backlash Jaxson Dart has received for supporting him

After the Rockland County rally, Donald Trump had an interview on FOX News’ show, “My View,” hosted by his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.

While talking about Jaxson Dart, he had nothing but praise for the quarterback. Trump also said that the Giants star will not lack in support amid all the backlash.

“He (Dart) said, ‘I love you sir.’ And I didn’t know he was doing it,” Trump said. “But he’s a potentially great quarterback. He’s a young boy. … but when he’s in a game, he moves the team. … I watched him a little bit, and he really moves the team.

“He’s got tremendous potential. If he stays healthy, he’s going to be great. So, when Jaxson got harassed a little bit, he’s also loved more because we have more people than they do.”

The Giants kick off the 2026 season with a Week 1 showdown on Sept. 13 against the Dallas Cowboys at home.
