Terrion Arnold has been struggling in his off-field life since his Airbnb got robbed a few months ago. The stuff that was stolen from the former Alabama star included watches, jewelry and more, all worth around $250,000.
Arnold allegedly then took matters into his own hands and orchestrated a kidnapping of individuals he thought did the robbery.
Arnold was charged with kidnapping and assault; however, he got a bond worth $1,000,00 earlier this week. Nevertheless, the former Lions cornerback’s struggles didn’t stop there as he got released from the franchise hours after the bond announcement.
Former Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton shared his thoughts on Arnold’s situation on Thursday:
“That’s not Terrion. That’s that, man. That’s the kid who got a smile that’ll light up the place and he’s just this he has an infectious personality.
“Went to Alabama. Obviously having a letter of recommendation to the judge from Nick Saban. This does not match who he is. But what I will do in this particular situation is use Terrion Arnold’s situation to not only speak to Terrion, but to also speak to athletes and people of influence around the world.
“You don’t think you’re a big deal, brother. You don’t think you’re a big deal, sister, until something happens that will remind you that you can be on top of the world one day, next day the world could be on top of.”
“He was only wrong because he got caught. When you unpack what happened and the amount of money or the things that was stolen, it will leave anybody outraged.”
T.J. Houshmandzadeh Gets 100% Real on Terrion Arnold’s Situation
On “Speakeasy” last week, T.J Houshmandzadeh and Emmanuel Acho shared their thoughts on Terrion Arnold’s situation. While Houshmandzadeh believes the ex-Lions CB’s actions were something he would do, too, Acho said he doesn’t feel sorry for him.
Housmandzadeh said that Arnold went after the people he thought wronged him.
“I’m sure once he realizes it wasn’t them people, I would hope he had some type of remorse,” Houshmandzadeh said. “I don’t know how he grew up, but if somebody take my stuff and I call the police and they don’t get it, I’m going to get it. I’m going to get it. I’m going to get it at 25. I’m going. That’s just being honest. Anybody that know me. At 25.”
Houshmandzadeh added that while his current self may choose a different route, a version of him from five years ago or the 25-year-old him would’ve done what Arnold did, highlighting that it’s what happens when you grow up in “that” type of lifestyle.
