Is Mark Fletcher Jr. going to the NFL? With the college football season wrapped up, decision season has arrived for the Miami Hurricanes running back. That is, if he hasn’t already made his choice.
Here’s a look at what’s going on with the running back, what he has decided, and what that could mean for his career going forward.
Mark Fletcher Jr.’s NFL Draft Decision
According to a Dec. 23 report by ESPN, Mark Fletcher Jr. made his choice abundantly clear. The Miami Hurricanes running back will return for at least one more season, which will be his fourth with the team.
“Yeah, it’s true. I’m coming back another year,” Fletcher said. “I have another year. You know, I’m a true junior. Another year guaranteed. I love this team. I love this organization. I love this culture. And I just want to spend more time with my brothers while I can.”
At this point, a change of heart seems out of the question with the decision now about a month old.
Exploring Mark Fletcher Jr.’s Current Draft Stock
The Miami Hurricanes running back led the ACC in rushing yards in 2025 and earned an impressive 5.5 yards per carry en route to that total. His yards per carry average has only increased over his three years with the team, and a fourth year opens the chance for his average to increase once again.
As it stands, Mark Fletcher Jr. would be a strong Day 2 pick, but as a back without much to speak of in the receiving game, he still has room for improvement in 2026. If he can keep his rushing totals in the same ballpark or better and increase his ability to work in the receiving game, Fletcher has the chance to be one of the top running backs in the 2027 NFL Draft class.
His receiving numbers have climbed every year with the Hurricanes, so he has reason to keep growing to be the best he can before jumping into the professional league, when all bets are off.
