Is Christian McCaffrey Playing Today vs. Seahawks? Status Update on 49ers RB Ahead of NFL Divisional Round

The San Francisco 49ers have had an injury-filled season, losing many of their stars over the course of the campaign. However, they have overcome the absences to make it to the divisional round, where they will face the Seattle Seahawks.

One player with an injury history is running back Christian McCaffrey, who has been experiencing back issues this season and was also listed on the injury report ahead of last week’s Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, McCaffrey is fit and will play against the Seahawks in Seattle on Saturday. He was not listed on the injury report and was a full participant in practice.

He should give the 49ers’ running game a massive boost against the Seahawks, especially with the team being without tight end George Kittle for the rest of the playoffs, as he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear against the Eagles last week.

McCaffrey will be backed up by Brian Robinson Jr, who has amassed 400 rushing yards on 92 attempts with two touchdowns and eight receptions this season.

Christian McCaffrey To Receive Prestigious Bart Starr Award

As he prepares for the divisional round, Christian McCaffrey is set to receive one of the most prestigious awards in the league, the Bart Starr Award. This award is named after the famous former Alabama quarterback and is given to “the NFL player who best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community.”

He will receive the award during the 39th annual Super Bowl Breakfast, which will be held at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco on Feb. 7. The award is voted on by NFL players, meaning his peers recognize his efforts off the field.
