Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers have somehow made it to the NFL playoffs as a No. 4 seed. Throughout most of the season, the Panthers quarterback has been dealing with a lingering ankle issue that saw him underperform or miss several games, and with Saturday’s showdown against the Los Angeles Rams looming, will Young be able to play?
The last time the Rams and the Panthers played, it was Bryce Young who led the team to a 31-28 victory back in Week 13 as he threw 20 passes and completed 15 of them for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Should he miss the game, it would really hurt the Panthers, so is he playing on Saturday?
Young is currently not injured, even though he has been dealing with that ankle issue that has been nagging at him all season long. This means that in all likelihood, he would be suiting up against the Rams, who are certainly looking for revenge during that loss at the Bank of America Stadium.
This will be the first time that the Carolina Panthers have made the playoffs since 2017, with several players playing in the playoffs for the first time in their careers. This includes Bryce Young, who is indeed making his playoff debut against a battle-hardened Rams squad led by MVP favorite Matthew Stafford.
Ahead of the playoff showdown, head coach Dave Canales was all praises for Young:
“Bryce is really consistent in terms of his prep, our normal conversations throughout the week,” He said. “He goes out there to practice and he just continues to lead the group and make sure we get to the right play.
Bryce Young Gets New Contract Update Ahead of Playoff Game vs. LA Rams
Meanwhile, as Bryce Young prepares to make his playoff debut, the young quarterback is expected to get a fifth-year option, and this should net him more money should he sign it. Reports indicate that this fifth-year option will cost $26.5 million.
This shows that the Carolina Panthers organization is sticking with their star quarterback until at least 2027. However, this does not show that they are fully committing with him just yet, though a playoff win against the Rams should make them change their minds a bit,
