‘He Was Playing Dumb’: Podcaster Doubles Down on Adam Schefter Criticism for Behavior Amid Dianna Russini, Mike Vrabel Situation

Tony Farmer has been one of the most consistent voices covering the Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini controversy since the two were captured at a luxurious, adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona.

One of the things Farmer has pointed out several times in his coverage is that the mainstream NFL media haven’t covered the story the way they usually do.

After highlighting Schefter’s hesitancy towards the Mike Vrabel-A.J. Brown tampering conversation (the incident that goes back to 2022), Farmer pulled another video of the popular NFL reporter from April 8th, where he gave a cryptic reaction to the whole Russini, Vrabel scandal.

According to Farmer, Schefter sounded uncomfortable talking about Russini and Vrabel.

“Another video of Adam Schefter sounding very uncomfortable talking about the Vrabel – Russini story [April 8]. Adam Schefter’s job is to know what’s happening in the NFL. Do you believe Adam Schefter was unaware of Russini’s reporting on AJ Brown?! While Eagles fans were screaming about it? That’s unfathomable to me. Seems more likely he was playing dumb. Adam is business partners with Robert Kraft – they both own large pieces of the same sports betting app. Adam hasn’t tweeted the word Russini since before the Sedona photos dropped and didn’t tweet the Tennessee boat rental photos or anything after the NYT article dropped. I believe Adam’s business partnership with Robert Kraft is impacting his reporting.”

Dianna Russini FaceTiming an NFL HC to Get Out of a Ticket Labeled “Unacceptable”

The parent company of “The Athletic”, the “New York Times”, published an extensive story on Dianna Russini months after she resigned from the former organization.

Russini resigned because she didn’t want to be part of the internal investigation the organization was launching shortly after her pictures with Vrabel went viral.

In the NYT story published on June 24th, an interview with Russini admitting to FaceTiming a head coach to get out of a ticket was highlighted.

Danielle Rhoades Ha, a Times Company spokeswoman, labeled this situation as “unacceptable conduct”, adding that the Athletic editors weren’t aware of her appearance on the podcast where she shared this information.

“For The Athletic, under the ownership of The Times, it was out of bounds. Danielle Rhoades Ha, a Times Company spokeswoman, described it as “unacceptable conduct,” adding that Athletic editors had been unaware of it because Ms. Russini neither sought nor received permission to appear on the podcast, as required by company guidelines. The New York Times article read.

The story also mentioned that the head coach Russini called was not Vrabel.
