The Detroit Lions selected Terrion Arnold with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and while he signed a 4-year, $14.34 contract, he has been let go from the franchise after two seasons.
Arnold has been going through a rough patch in his personal life as he is currently facing assault and kidnapping charges for an incident that took place in February in Hillsborough County.
The release came as a surprise, as Arnold was granted a $1 million bond by a Florida judge just a few hours before the announcement from the Lions.
Reacting to the news of Arnold’s release, fans shared their thoughts.
Super Bowl Champ Unleashes Wrath on Terrion Arnold Amid Assault, Kidnapping Charges
T.J. Ward spoke about the Terrion Arnold situation during an appearance on the June 26th episode of “Speakeasy.”
Ward, who is a former Super Bowl champ, called Arnold’s actions stupid and even called out the former Alabama star for texting about his conspiracies.
“If it is true, it’s just stupidity,” Ward said. “First off, you don’t text your conspiracy. It’s rule number one. I’m not a criminal, but if I were to commit a crime, I wouldn’t write it down. I wouldn’t text anyone what I was going to write down. So that’s just dumb. It’s dumb.”
Ward also highlighted that Arnold’s texts were found in a group chat and added that he questioned how the former Lions CB thought he could trust so many people.
