Brittany Mahomes just shared a wholesome photos of offseason moments with the Chiefs quarterback and their three children, one post became the center of debate after it suggested Patrick Mahomes had put on “a significant amount of weight” during his injury rehabilitation.
The post described the image as “concerning,” claiming fans had “never seen him this out of shape.” However, many football fans disagreed with that and quickly defended the three-time Super Bowl champion.
Instead of criticizing Mahomes’ physique, many supporters argued that the viral discussion was being blown out of proportion, pointing out that the Chiefs quarterback was never been known for having a bodybuilder’s frame.
“Let the guy enjoy his money and life. He’s got 3 rings and big family now. He’s getting older of course he will put on weight,” one fan wrote.
Another dismissed the concern saying, “He literally always looks like this.”
“This is average for a QB. I mean they have to absorb the hits,” another user commented.
“You can see his abs and a shoulder vein lol. He’s a NFL QB not Mr Olympia,” one fan posted.
Another added, “Patrick looks great! What are you talking about.”
Some even joked that Mahomes has always carried a similar build throughout his NFL career.
“If Pat Mahomes gets in shape then that’s the only time he’ll be out of shape 😂,” another fan quipped.
Mahomes Continues Progressing Through Injury Rehab
Reports surrounding Mahomes’ recovery have been far more encouraging. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer provided update on the star quarterback.
“Let’s call it what it is: Chiefs camp is going to be Patrick Mahomes Watch. Mahomes has been in on installs, individual and seven-on-sevens through the spring,” Breer wrote. “His arm has looked good, given how rehab limited his throwing work over the past six months. He’s trending toward being cleared for 11-on-11 work at the start of camp, but the plan is to be smart here.
“The Chiefs know, given the competitor in question, once they tell Mahomes he can go, he will go; they’ll likely pace him some early on. But he’s in a good place, way ahead of the normal ACL/LCL rehab timeline.”
Mahomes also remained active away from football. Brittany’s Instagram post showcased the family enjoying trips to a safari park and SeaWorld.
For now, many fans appear not concerned about one offseason snapshot and are excited to see the Chiefs quarterback continue making progress toward his return.
