After months of anticipation, Travis Kelce has finally married Taylor Swift. Several music industry heavyweights and NFL stars were there at Madison Square Garden on Friday, including several of Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs teammates. However, it seems that one Kansas City star was unable to attend, and that is kicker Harrison Butker.
As it turned out, Butker, who is known for being a divisive figure due to his right-wing views, was the only Kansas City Chiefs player not at the wedding, which included even people not affiliated with the Chiefs right now, such as Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. Reports are saying that he was not even invited, and this soon got a lot of people piling on Butker for missing the wedding of the century.
“Ouch” added another X user.
“Swift not going to invite dudes who think women belong in the kitchen. Good on her.” another person commented.
“Harrison made his bed and now he can lie in it. Alone.” another critic replied.
“Imagine that. A successful woman didn’t invite the guy that said women should stay home and have children.” said another.
“They shouldn’t have to invite people they don’t like to their wedding” another person noted.
Soon after Butker’s controversial commencement speech, in which he expressed conservative views, Travis Kelce notably called him out on his podcast, saying he disagreed with much of what Butker had said.
Which Athletes Were Actually at Travis Kelce’s Wedding To Taylor Swift?
It was not actually revealed why Butker was reportedly not invited, but there were a lot of athletes that were present at Madison Square Garden for the wedding and the party. Several former and current Travis Kelce teammates were there, including Patrick Mahomes, Kareem Hunt, Trent McDuffie, Jared Wiley, Jake Briningstool, Tre Watson and more.
Current and former NFL stars were also there, including Tom Brady, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Cooper Kupp, Tony Romo, Matthew Stafford, Baker Mayfield, Julian Edelman, golfer Justin Thomas and more.
Athletes from other sports, such as former tennis star Jack Sock, soccer star Abby Wambach, and New York Knicks stars Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns, were also in attendance.
