Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck has been selected in this year’s NFL Draft, but football fans everywhere are up in arms about the selection.
On Friday, Beck was selected by coach Mike LaFleur’s Arizona Cardinals with the 65th pick in the third round of the draft and can now vie for a spot in the rotation come the 2026 season.
The move is being met with criticism, as Beck is deemed inconsistent by the football world. During his time in college, he showed flashes of greatness throughout his tenure. But instances of him faltering on the big stage have created doubts about his ability at the professional level of playing football.
NFL fans online are not too keen on the Arizona-based franchise selecting Beck, given that they don’t have much belief in him.
“Traded Kyler to get Carson, what a f*ck*ng joke he’s a known choker 😂😂😂😂,” one user said with four laughing emojis.
“Arizona clearly didn’t watch Carson Beck play,” another user shared.
“LMAO Arizona is gonna be in a 15-year rebuild at this point,” another fan claimed.
“It’s like the Cardinals are allergic to good QBs 😂,” a user pointed out with a laughing emoji.
Other X users believe that Beck will end up becoming a bust in the NFL with his skill set and playing style.
“Bust,” one user asserted.
“Will be washed out in two years,” another user wrote.
“I don’t think he’s going to do well in the NFL,” a user posted.
Nevertheless, it seems as though Beck will be joining coach LaFleur’s team, who was named the team’s newest head coach in February of this year. Under the tutelage of then-coach Jonathan Gannon, the Cardinals finished the recently concluded campaign with an overall record of 3-14 and did not make the league’s postseason. The team now looks to turn their failures around, with Beck in play.
Carson Beck Is Coming Off His 2025 National Championship Game Loss
It seems as though the doubt that surrounds Carson Beck’s ability to elevate his game at the highest level of football is the fact that he and the rest of coach Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes just lost the 2025 national championship game.
In January this year, Beck and company were defeated by coach Curt Cignetti’s Indiana Hoosiers by six points, 27-21, to win the college football playoff title.
