The Browns have one of the most exciting quarterback battles for the 2026 NFL season, as Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, and Dillon Gabriel fight for the spot.
While the Browns have a stacked quarterback room, GM Andrew Berry’s pre-draft comments to the media insinuated that the franchise is open to drafting another quarterback.
After the Browns didn’t pick Simpson, rumors suggest that the organization could consider picking former Miami QB, Carson Beck, as the 74th overall pick.
The possibility of the Browns picking Beck is more real than some would imagine, as Todd Monken already has a relationship with him due to their time together at Georgia.
“Jesus. They drafted TWO last year. What a joke of a franchise,” one fan reacted.
“Browns are officially the dumbest organization in football along with bengals especially if they pick Carson need a pick back,” another fan wrote.
“Maybe in the 4th round or later. Do not waste another pick on a QB when you have other pressing needs. This year should be used to determine if they currently have a QB who can win,” another fan said.
“Drafting more below-average quarterbacks to their already stacked below-average QB room isn’t really a solution. The Browns really have to wait for Watson’s contract to end and then draft a first-rounder,” another fan added.
“They’ve been wrong all off season browns getting another OL & WR if they get a QB it’ll be tomorrow but they don’t need one,” another fan shared their thoughts.
”Carson Beck cannot throw the ball. The fact that people would even consider him for the Browns is crazy. You guys are give the Shedeur people ammo. Get serious,” another fan pointed out.
Shedeur Sanders Opens Up About QB Battle With Deshaun Watson, Dillon Gabriel
The QB battle in Cleveland is among the most talked-about. Some analysts root for veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson to get the starting role; others believe Sanders will give the franchise the best chance to win.
Talking to the media after the Browns’ first voluntary camp training day, Sanders spoke about the QB competition and said he is not focusing on what’s not in his control.
According to The Athletic‘s Zac Johnson, Sanders said:
“I go out there every day and focus on what I can control. If I focus on something I can’t control, then I’ll be living the wrong way.”
Sanders added that he has returned this offseason with a lot of new energy and loves what he is doing in terms of learning, affirming his “renewed mindset.”
