As we write this, there is a good chance Odell Beckham Jr. might have already become a member of the New York Giants. The wide receiver was drafted by the Giants 12th overall in 2014. He emerged as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and all three of his Pro Bowl selections came with the Giants.
For the last few weeks, a reunion between the two has been rumored and we’ve got a firm update that suggests that it’s only time before the wide receiver once again returns to his stomping grounds.
A phone call is reportedly scheduled between OBJ and Giants head coach John Harbaugh at 9:00 pm in New York.
Fans are still not able to process this update, as many are still not convinced that the Super Bowl champion is returning in a Giants uniform.
“He won’t be. Cmon man this account used to actually be ok, now you’re just hoping something sticks..,” one fan commented.
“As of today, where would he slot in on the depth chart? Even if you think he’s better than Slay, he’s prob WR4 at best. That’s not taking Likely and his targets into account. If he thinks he’s got juice left would he take that?” another fan questioned.
“I will still be surprised,” one fan added.
“How do you know,” one fan asked.
“is this fr?” another asked.
Meanwhile, there were some fans who suggested that they don’t need out of touch OBJ on the Giants team.
“I say prank him. We don’t need him,” one fan wrote.
“Why are we acting like OBJ is still good??” one fan asked.
“He’s telling him, ‘You got one year Mutherf**ker. Don’t expect much. Shut your mouth and sell your jersey,'” one fan added.
What’s Actually Happeneing Between Giants and Odell Beckham Jr.
Odell Beckham Jr. last played an NFL game two years ago with the Miami Dolphins. In 2024, he caught nine receptions for 55 yards. By December 2024, they mutually agreed to part ways. Last October, the NFL suspended the wide receiver for six games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Then, many believed that OBJ might as well just announce retirement. Then, earlier this month, reports came out that he visited the Giants’ facility recently and completed a workout and physical. He looked good physically and impressed during the workout.
As a result, both sides are actively discussing a possible reunion, but no final decision has been made yet.
