A lot of NFL coaches are looking for a job right now after several teams fired their head coaches during Black Monday, including the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons fired head man Raheem Morris after a disastrous season filled with a lot of injuries and heartbreaks. They initially set their sights on longtime Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, but he has now been scooped up by the New York Giants.
This leaves the Falcons in an unusual bind, as they are still looking for a head coach and their top target is now gone. This begs the question of who else the Falcons try to get? There are still a lot of coaching free agents out there awaiting a call, so they would still have a chance to get a new one by the time the 2025-2026 season actually ends, but who should it be?
3 NFL Coaches Who Could Be the Next Head Coach For the Atlanta Falcons
Kevin Stefanski
Kevin Stefanski may have been hated in Cleveland, and he may have made a few questionable plays that led to the Browns losing close games, but the former NFL Coach of the Year is still one of the best candidates out there to replace Morris. Known as a “quarterback whisperer,” Stefanski is a great coach to get and may be the best option out there for the Falcons, though he does have a few coaching mishaps with the Browns.
Pete Carroll
Considered one of the best head coaches of the 2010s, Pete Carroll has the distinction of winning a college national championship and a Super Bowl. After leading the Seattle Seahawks, Carroll stepped down as the head coach of the team in 2023 and became an advisor, but he returned to coaching in 2025 for the Las Vegas Raiders. That had been quite a disaster, but many felt that the Raiders were a poor fit for him, but will the Falcons?
Mike McDaniel
Mike McDaniel has been quite successful as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, with the team actually having a shot at making the playoffs despite a slow start to the season. He led the team to two playoff appearances, but he has yet to actually win one. The question now is, how will he fit with the Falcons?
