Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek are one of the sweetest NFL couples. They started dating when Gronk was with the New England Patriots, and Kostek was one of the cheerleaders for the Patriots franchise.
Although they were part of the same organization, Kostek and Gronk didn’t meet until a Goodwill charity event in 2013. Shortly after their first meeting, they started dating but kept their love life under wraps.
During a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, Maxxine Dupri, a professional wrestler and former cheerleader, revealed why Gronk and Kostek had to keep their dating life a secret for a while.
Dupri stated that the cheerleaders aren’t allowed to fraternize with the players as per their contracts. The rule is followed in the NFL and the NBA as well. When asked what happens when two people are serious about each other, like Gronk and Kostek, Dupri said:
“They kept it a secret while she was a cheerleader…If someone found out, you’d be off the team.”
Dupri has been a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams and the Phoenix Suns. She said that the Suns franchise is “more relaxed” about this rule as compared to the NFL team she worked with.
Kostek has talked about her first meeting with the NFL legend. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s This Is Happening with Mark Zito and Ryan Sampson, she revealed that one of Gronk’s teammates gave her Gronk’s number.
“I was a rookie. I was like, ‘Oh no, no, no, I can’t take this. I can’t take his number.’ And then [his teammate] was like, ‘Just take it,’ and I was like, ‘Okay,’ and I put it in my pocket. And I never spoke about it again,” she said.
After Kostek FaceTimed Gronk, they hit it off well but kept everything a secret. The couple went public with their relationship in September 2015.

Gronk and Kostek have been together since 2013. During a conversation with PEOPLE, Gronk recalled the Goodwill charity event in 2013 when he met Kostek for the first time. The NFL legend stated that he’s “very thankful” for the event.
“Camille and I met during Thanksgiving week. Therefore, I am very thankful for the charity event we met at,” he said.
While Gronk was doing his best to keep his personal life to himself, Kostek also kept the secret from coming out. She didn’t even tell her cheerleading teammates about it, and when they went public for the first time, they were all shocked.
