Drake Maye’s injured shoulder has been a topic of discussion in the lead-up to the Super Bowl. Just days away from the main event, the New England Patriots and their fans wouldn’t want any complication or discomfort for their star quarterback.
Maye was listed as DNP on Friday’s injury report due to right shoulder soreness. He also had an illness last Friday and was deemed questionable for the Super Bowl.
Maye’s availability will be the key to the Patriots’ success. He has led the team well so far with consistent output, and even though this has been his first playoff appearance, Maye has churned out game-winning performances.
On Monday, during the Super Bowl Opening Night, the quarterback was asked about his injured shoulder and how he feels just days before the Super Bowl. Maye said that he has been practicing recently, which is a good sign for the Patriots.
He said that he threw as much as he would’ve in an actual team practice and he felt good about his form. Maye was excited to join the team on Wednesday and Thursday for practice to properly assess his status.
“I threw a good bit,” Maye said. “I threw as much as I would in a practice and felt great. I’m looking forward to getting back out there on Wednesday and Thursday for practice again.”
The quarterback was later asked if he was at his 100% and he said, “Feeling great. 100%.”
Everything for now indicates that Maye is going to be completely ready for the Super Bowl. Even if he’s left with some discomfort, he’ll likely push himself to overcome it and put up a Super Bowl-winning performance for his team.
Drake Maye Gave Marriage Advice to His Teammates
Maye is just 23 years old, and he’s married to his childhood sweetheart, Ann Michael. Their popularity has grown exponentially over the last few years, and they are adored by the fans in New England.
During the media interaction, he was asked about his marriage, and the quarterback went into great detail on why marrying Ann has been life-changing for him while advising his teammates to experience that in their lives.
“I definitely would advise them to eventually get married. It’s one of the best things in life. It’s one of the best things I’ve experienced in my life. There’s no better feeling than coming home to a wife that loves you and cares for you and is worried about your best interests,” he said.
Maye said that people have different journeys in life, but he decided to get married at a young age, and he has enjoyed every part of it so far.
