New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has become part of the wrong side of historic records on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium. In the ongoing Super Bowl game against the Seattle Seahawks, Maye has already been sacked five times, breaking the record for the most sacks the quarterback has endured in a single playoff run.
Previously, the record was held by Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who suffered 19 sacks in the 2021 playoffs. The Patriots have had a terrible start to the Super Bowl game, going scoreless in the first three quarters as Seattle’s defensive line was all over Maye. Interestingly, Maye has been sacked five times each in every playoff encounter so far.
Fans are disappointed with the Patriots quarterback so much that “Drake Maye Sucks” is trending online.
“Tiny Dave doesn’t realize drake maye f*cking sucks,” one fan wrote.
“Drake maye sucks,” another commented.
“Drake Maye sucks😭. Total schedule fraud,” one fan added.
“Drake Maye still sucks lmao,” one fan commented.
“Drake Maye #10 quarterback for the Patriots sucks so bad this game he could actually play for the Cincinnati Bengals,” one fan added.
“I feel bad for Drake Maye and our entire defense. Maye gonna get killed for “stats” when the guy literally has .1 seconds before he gets bum rushed cuz our O-line sucks and our defense hard carried us the entire playoffs,” another fan said.
Drake Maye Unusually Inefficient in Super Bowl LX vs Seahawks
Drake Maye has been an efficient passer for most of the 2025 season, but he has struggled to complete passes in the playoffs. In the Super Bowl game so far, he has managed to complete just 10 of 20 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown.
Moreover, in the AFC title game against the Denver Broncos, a low-scoring game, he could complete only 10 of 21 passes for 86 yards. In that game as well, he was sacked five times.
In the divisional round game against the Houston Texans, he threw three touchdowns against one interception while completing 16 of 27 passes for 179 yards. Again, the sack count was five. The story was pretty much the same in the wild card round.
Meanwhile, in the regular season, the Patriots quarterback completed 72% of his passes, showing how unusual the quarterback has been this playoffs.
