What Did Joel Dahmen’s Helmet At WM Phoenix Say? Seattle Fan’s Viral Nod Explored

It is only one day ahead of the sports extravaganza known as the Super Bowl, and it has many people, including those in other sports, excited. One of them is Joel Dahmen, a pro golfer who is originally from Washington state and showed some love for his state’s NFL team, which will be competing in the Super Bowl this Sunday. And yes, he wore it during the 16th hole of WM Phoenix.

That team he was repping during WM Phoenix was, of course, his home state’s Seattle Seahawks. They will be facing off against the New England Patriots during the Super Bowl on Sunday in Santa Clara, California, at Levi’s Stadium.

Joel Dahmen usually does quirky things at the 16th hole, including that time he famously took his shirt off at the 16th hole of the TPC Sawgrass, where he swung the club. With the Super Bowl coming up in a few days, the golf star decided to shout out his home state’s squad.

The golfer reportedly wore the helmet after hitting his tee shot at the stadium hole. He did make a poor swing and missed the green, but this still ended in him doing something that fans would remember for a while. As for his Seattle Seahawks helmet, it turns out that it was an official one.

Joel Dahmen Got Helmet From Caddie Who Used To Work For the Seattle Seahawks

As it turns out, the caddie working for Joel Dahmen is Ben Hulka, who used to be the equipment manager for the Seahawks. He still has one of the official helmets, and this was the one that the golfer wore during WM Phoenix, and he ended up going viral because of it.

“We were trying to figure out what to do to be subtle but still for the Seahawks, and, yeah, so my Caddie, Ben Hulka, he used to be the equipment manager for the Seahawks,” Joel Dahman said. “He has the official helmet, so he brought that out; threw that on. It was debatable about throwing it on after such a bad shot in there, but, yeah, hit an unbelievable pitch shot that rolled in like a putt and the environment is really special after that.”

He did take the football helmet off as he swung, and he ultimately got a ton of cheers as he declared his allegiance for this Sunday.
