The rumored Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce nuptials seem to be going through at Madison Square Garden, and New York City is already bracing for impact, as such an event would require a massive amount of security. The event, which will have over 1,000 guests including some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports, could transform MSG into a Fort Knox as per TMZ.
The MSG area is now surrounded by the police, with several streets around the “World’s Most Famous Arena” being closed off. With that, TMZ has reported that precincts from all over the city are involved, not just in the wedding but also the rehearsal dinner on Thursday. Over 70 detectives were reportedly assigned to work during that time, with over 50 police officials being assigned to MSG itself, and that also includes a few higher-ups.
According to the TMZ report, getting all those detectives to work could cost the city around $95,200 in wages, while the police officers at MSG could cost another $63,000. Several top officials will also be working the event, and they could cost over $160,000.
This also means that the city government is seemingly treating this event as a top priority, with that level of security being applied the night before, during Thursday’s rehearsal dinner, which was also reportedly a star-studded affair.
A report by the Associated Press said that the wedding would begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, though guests are expected to arrive around 3:00 PM. The event will also reportedly include a big party that could accommodate up to 1,000 people, with MSG reportedly being reserved just for that event until 4:00 AM the next day.
Several Celebrities Spotted During the Thursday Night Rehearsal Dinner For Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Wedding
A lot of people connected to either Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce were spotted all over New York City, with Taylor’s childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson Berard, being seen leaving the Ritz-Carlton on Thursday. Tree Paine, Taylor’s famous publicist, as well as Travis’ aunt and uncle, Joan and Don, were also spotted at the Ritz-Carlton and seen leaving the hotel.
Taylor’s industry best friend, Selena Gomez, was also spotted attending the reported rehearsal dinner, with the actress-singer showing off a short video of herself glamming up inside a car. Singer Jack Antonoff was also spotted on the street, with podcast co-hosts Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson also reportedly attending the event.
