Cooper DeJean recently went official with his relationship, confirming to the world that he was indeed dating Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Abby Summers.
While most of the world has been largely welcoming of the announcement, there appears to be a segment of the public that isn’t too excited about the news.
One such individual is Tyrone Johnson, who was recently on the Craig Carton Show and expressed his concerns about DeJean, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, dating someone whose priorities are aligned with an NFL rival, the Dallas Cowboys.
“Yeah this is gonna ultimately be his downfall. This is his undoing. I was a big fan of him,” Johnson said.
When asked whether Summers should quit her cheerleading job if she wants to be with DeJean, Johnson gave a clear yes.
“I would demand her to do it,” he continued, insinuating that a Philadelphia fan cannot be pleased about this situation regardless of the circumstances.
Is it Legal for a Cheerleader to be Dating an NFL Player?
The million-dollar question about this relationship is clearly its legality, and it turns out that yes indeed, Summers has done nothing wrong by dating DeJean.
Cowboys rules don’t allow the cheerleaders to date members of their own team, but nothing stops them from dating players from other teams. Another Cowboys cheerleader Zoe Dale was dating New York Jets kicker Cade York while he was at the Cincinnati Bengals.
