Chiefs Coaches Departing Andy Reid’s Coaching Staff

Kansas City wanted to evolve on the offensive side of the ball with all of the known firings taking place on that side of the ball to start the offseason. A wide receivers coach was fired, as was a running backs coach.

The most notable exit was Matt Nagy, who was at first in line to exit by promotion to head coach elsewhere. However, seemingly regardless of whether he got the job or not, Kansas City was ready to move on.

Chiefs Coaches Joining Andy Reid’s Coaching Staff

While many coaches were given the pink slip this month, Andy Reid’s team has started to fill jobs once again. The team added Chad O’Shea to coach the wide receivers, giving him his first role with Kansas City since 2005.

With Matt Nagy out, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is in, returning to the role he left behind in 2023. Bieniemy worked with the team from 2018 through the 2022 season, and many believed his exit hurt the team. It appears Andy Reid agreed.

More names are likely to be added as the coaching staff starts to take shape in the coming weeks.
