“Injuring Teammates With Terrible Passes”: CJ Stroud Gets The Blame From Fans As Cade Stover Seemingly Tears ACL vs Patriots

The Houston Texans’ season is over. CJ Stroud and Co. have been eliminated in the Divisional Round matchup against the New England Patriots. It was one of the most disappointing outings from the quarterback and his team.

The Patriots won the game 28-16, but the outcome was nearly guaranteed in the first half. The Texans were making mistakes no one could’ve expected from them, especially in a playoff game.

Stroud had arguably the worst game of the Divisional Round matchups. He went 20 of 47 for 212 yards and just one touchdown. But what cost the Texans the game was his four interceptions.

To make matters worse, Cade Stover suffered a leg injury, which is rumored to be a potential ACL tear. In the fourth quarter, Stover fell backwards while trying to catch a pass, and his leg got caught in the turf.

He was then taken to the medical tent and ruled out for the rest of the game. Following his injury, fans started blaming Stroud for making terrible passes.

“Stroud has to go man he’s injuring his teammates with these terrible passes,” a fan wrote.

“Game is over and I blame it on the coaching staff for not putting Mills in in the middle of the 2nd quarter.  Better luck next season,” a fan wrote.

“Wow Stroud is terrible,” a fan wrote.

“Absolute joke for timeout managament in the second half. CJ Stroud needs to walk back to Houston. Embarrassing,” a fan wrote.

“CJ should have bern benched in the 4qtr if not the 2nd half,” a fan wrote.

“CJ putting his own guys out the game.  Bad look,” a fan wrote.

Most of these reactions were pouring in when the game was in the fourth quarter. Following the loss, fans are even more frustrated and are blaming Stroud for everything.

CJ Stroud’s Future in Houston Doesn’t Look Good

A lot was riding on this game for Stroud and the Texans. A win here would’ve advanced them to the Conference Championship round and put them just one win away from a Super Bowl appearance.

For Stroud, a good performance would’ve secured his starting quarterback position in the long run and helped with the contract extension coming up. Now, it seems like he has fumbled his chances for both.

It’s unclear if he will be the primary quarterback for the Texans moving forward. In addition to that, Houston might give some more thought to his contract extension, considering he had a terrible performance under pressure.
