Former Heisman trophy winner Cam Newton spent one year with Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots towards the last leg of his career in the NFL.
Newton signed a one year contract with the Patriots in June 2026, after which he started for 15 games as the franchise quarterback.

During his one year gig with the Patriots, Newton Threw for 2,415 yards, while scoring 8 touchdowns, against 10 interceptions.
In his recent YouTube video, Cam Newton spoke about one of the biggest learnings he had from the 8x national champ, which had nothing to do with football as such.
“I said, “You guys may not have made me a better football player, but what I experienced with the 365 days or the short months that I’ve been a part of the Patriots organization and under the the divine order of William Belichick by way of Bill. You definitely made me a better businessman because Bill Belichick runs or he takes his head coaching position like the head of a Fortune 500 company.
Never forget Robert Craft called me and they would were moving forward to making a decision and how they were going to do it. The thing that sticks out to me and will forever be engraved in my mind, he mentioned Cam as a member here the Patriot way we all pulling in the same direction we all trying to win anything and everything that Bill Belichick decides to do he has full autonomy to do it.
