Caleb Williams isn’t done with his victory lap after beating the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round. The Bears pulled off a brilliant win after being down 3-21 at halftime and won the game 31-27.
The Packers’ loss infuriated their fans. No one was expecting the Bears to go on a 25-6 onslaught in the fourth quarter, but with the home crowd’s support, they were able to do the unthinkable.
Soon after the Packers lost, arguably the most popular Green Bay fan, hip-hop legend Lil Wayne, took to X to express his frustration. Weezy, in his rant, ended up taking shots at Caleb Williams.
“We just loss a playoff game to a n***a w purple nails we fkn suk bear azz! Bare a*s!!! We don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Straight like that,” Wayne wrote.
Hours later, Williams responded with a snowflake and a superhero emoji. He was likely referring to his moniker ‘Ice Man.’ At the time, it seemed like that would be the end of the short-lived back and forth.
However, Williams has decided that he will continue to troll Wayne and the Packers fans for a while. The quarterback posted a highlight reel of the game on his Instagram and used Wayne’s ‘Mr. Carter’ song in the video.
Trolling the $170 million worth hip-hop legend by using one of his classic songs that features lyrics like, “Winter hatin’ on me ’cause I’m colder than y’all / And I will never, I will never, I will never fall / I’m bein’ hated by the season / So f**k y’all, who hatin’ for no reason,” shows how committed Williams is to the longstanding rivalry.
Caleb Williams on What Beating Green Bay Means to the City
The Chicago-Green Bay rivalry has been going on for decades. With some of the most passionate football fans on both sides, the rivalry only gets more intense every season with each outing.
This season was no different. In December, when the Bears beat the Packers, they celebrated with the cheese grater hats, which became the city’s favorite accessory. Williams understands the responsibility that comes with his job.
“We understand that it’s 60 minutes of football,” Williams said. “We understand and know who we are. We understand what this means to the city. We understand what this means to the organization. We also understand what this means to us. So you keep going, keep going, keep fighting. And when the clock hits zero, you’ll look up and see who wins.”
Despite the rivalry and its intensity, winning games and helping the Bears proceed deeper into the season is what truly matters to Williams.
