The Green Bay Packers blew a 21-3 lead against Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. The second half disaster and the Bears’ fourth round, 25 points outburst ended up being the reason behind the Packers’ elimination in the Wild Card Round.
Understandably, the Packers fans were frustrated. Arguably the most popular Packers fan, hip-hop legend Lil Wayne went on a rant against his own team, expressing his disappointment over losing against their biggest rivals.
Wayne stated that the Packers shouldn’t have been in the playoffs if that was the best they could do against Chicago. Weezy also took an indirect shot at Williams, bringing up his purple colored nails, making it sound like that detail made the loss even more humiliating.
“We just loss a playoff game to a n***a w purple nails we fkn suk bear azz! Bare a*s!!! We don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Straight like that,” Wayne wrote.
The post went viral, and it eventually caught Williams’ attention, who then decided to respond to Wayne with a cryptic post. He posted two emojis in his response, a snowflake and a superhero.
One interpretation of his response is that he was calling himself ‘Ice Man’, which is a nickname given to him by his teammates. Another meaning of his response could be that he was calling Wayne a snowflake, which means weak in internet slang.
Wayne wasn’t the only Packers fan going berserk on social media. The fans couldn’t believe how easily the Packers blew their lead and allowed the Bears to walk away with a win. Williams played a major role in that turnaround. He went 24 of 48 for 361 yards and had two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Caleb Williams Praised His Team After the Win
The Bears’ celebration after the win is a great example of how intense the rivalry is and how passionate they are about defeating the Packers. Needless to say, the cheese grater celebration was the highlight.
While speaking at the post-game interview, Williams shared the spotlight with his teammates and the entire organization.
“We understand that it’s 60 minutes of football,” Williams said. “We understand and know who we are. We understand what this means to the city. We understand what this means to the organization. We also understand what this means to us. So you keep going, keep going, keep fighting. And when the clock hits zero, you’ll look up and see who wins.”
When asked about the joy of defeating the rivals, he stated that winning games is what truly matters to him. That has been his goal since he entered the league, and that’s all he’s going to focus on.
