Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills are set to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round on Sunday. The 12-5 Bills finished second in the AFC East, whereas the Jaguars, with a 13-4 record, landed at the top of the AFC South chart.
The winner of the game will proceed to the divisional round of the playoffs, while the loser will be eliminated. The Bills are already at a disadvantage as they’ll be playing in front of the Jaguars’ home crowd.
The Bills have strong supporters spread throughout the country, so they won’t be overwhelmed, but the majority of fans in the crowd would be rooting for the Jaguars. Hours before the matchup, MLFootball reported that Josh Allen’s wife won’t attend the game.
Hailee Steinfeld has been named as a presenter at the Golden Globe Awards tomorrow in Los Angeles. She’ll be attending her own professional commitment while Allen and the Bills fight to keep their title hopes alive.
The fans, however, are trolling Allen for his wife’s absence. They’re claiming that Steinfeld knows the Bills are going to lose, so she’s prioritizing the Golden Globe over the NFL playoffs.
“She knows he is losing anyway. So why attend,” a fan wrote.
“She couldn’t watch her husband get bounced in the first round by Trevor Lawrence,” a fan wrote.
“Way to support your husband. Smh,” a fan wrote.
“Well ya cause Josh is retiring next season just like Kelce. They are house husbands,” a fan wrote.
“Yeah because it will be an L for the bills,” a fan wrote.
“That means he’s losing,” a fan wrote.
The ones trolling Allen aren’t in the majority; they’re just louder than the ones who simply don’t care or understand that Steinfeld is a Hollywood star and has her own professional commitments.
Josh Allen on Trusting Himself and His Teammates
This will be the Bills’ seventh straight playoff appearance. Winning the Wild Card Round game against the Jaguars will help keep Allen’s hopes of a Super Bowl win alive. The quarterback has understood what it takes to win games.
He spoke on the importance of trusting himself, his process, the preparation he has put in, and the teammates that he plays with.
“Just trusting reads, trusting feet, trusting eyes, trusting my teammates. I think that’s what it kind of comes down to,” Allen SAID. “As we get into the playoffs, it was a very helpful exercise to do.”
Allen stated that in the regular season, players are able to brush off a loss because they know they’ll get another opportunity. The playoffs change everything. He said that he just needs to go out there with his teammates and execute the plans to perfection.
