Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and CBS Sports analyst Tony Romo got arrested Thursday night in Milwaukee for operating while intoxicated (OWI).
According to reports, Romo was stopped by authorities while driving on southbound Interstate 43 near the city’s high-rise bridge.
After TMZ shared the news on social media, fans quickly filled the comments with jokes on the former Cowboys star.
One fan wrote, “If I can afford an Uber, so can you, pal.”
Another fan wrote, “They could get him for announcing while intoxicated every Sunday.”
“Can’t even drive without getting intercepted,” one fan joked.

Tony Romo’s CBS Future Appears Unchanged
Despite the arrest, there is no indication that Romo’s role with CBS Sports is in jeopardy.
Under Wisconsin law, a first-offense OWI is treated as a civil violation rather than a criminal offense. The violation typically carries a fine ranging between $150 and $300 if there are no aggravating circumstances.
CBS has not publicly commented on the matter.
Romo has served as CBS’ lead NFL analyst alongside Jim Nantz since retiring from football in 2017.
Romo’s work in broadcasting has drawn increased scrutiny. Reports have suggested CBS executives encouraged him to improve his preparation, while some critics have argued that the sharp analysis that defined his early years on television has become less consistent.
For now, the legal process remains in its early stages. Formal charges have not yet been filed, and Romo’s next scheduled court appearance is set for Sept. 21.
