The San Francisco 49ers travelled to Philadelphia for their Wild Round Matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Although Christian McCaffrey’s team had a better record, beating the Eagles at home wasn’t going to be easy.
Understandably, there was a lot of nervousness and pressure within the entire 49ers camp. The intensity of the moment could be felt by the fact that even the wags were having sleepless nights in the lead-up to the game.
McCaffrey’s wife, Olivia Culpo, posted a video on her TikTok account, which she later reposted on Instagram, in which she talked about the pressure of the Eagles game at their home. Simply being in the playoffs isn’t the end goal for any team.
The season gets harder from here, as a single momentary lapse could tip the scales in the other team’s favor and bring your season to an end. In the video, Culpo talked about the importance of winning against Philly and detailed her struggles before the game.
“We have to win this game. I am so nervous. I did not sleep,” Culpo said.

Her husband and his teammates must’ve felt that pressure too, but they were more composed when the game started. The 49ers took a one-point lead in the first quarter, putting more pressure on the home team.
The Eagles managed to bounce back and were leading the game 13-10 at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, they extended their lead to 16-10 and made it seem like this would be the end of the 49ers in the 2025-26 season.
However, the visitors had some tricks up their sleeves as they went on a 13-3 run in the fourth quarter, closing the game 23-19 and ending the Eagles’ season on their home turf.
Christian McCaffrey Was Very Proud of His Team
The 49ers put up a clutch performance while staring down a season-ending loss. They were able to not only cut down the lead but also restrict the Eagles’ offense from doing damage anymore.
After the game, McCaffrey was all praise for his teammates. He said that the secret behind the win was that they took the one play at a time approach.
“We just focused on one play at a time. We knew it was going to be a 12-round fight. That’s what we kept saying. We just had to stick to it. No matter what happened during the game, good or bad, we just kept trusting each other and ended up winning,” he said.
“Our team fights. I love this group so much. I don’t have enough good things to say about it. I’m proud to be a part of this team,” McCaffrey added.
Beating the defending Super Bowl champions must’ve given the 49ers some much-needed motivation before they head to the divisional round matchup.
