The Atlanta Falcons are without a head coach after firing Raheem Morris earlier this month, but it seems that they are close to finding his replacement in Kevin Stefanski. The former Cleveland Browns coach, who was quite unpopular in Cleveland, is reportedly the favorite to land the job, as Stefanski is one of the biggest names still available on the market.
However, this development did not impress many Atlanta Falcons fans, who were not happy with the possibility of Kevin Stefanski helming the team after not doing too well at Cleveland.
“Would be a grave mistake for Atlanta. Kubiak or bust,” said one fan.
“Another 10 years of misery 😂😂😂😂,” another fan joked.
“There goes London fantasy value,” said another fan afraid for Drake London.
“noooooooooo bijan will be out snapped now by tyler 💀💀💀💀😬😬😬😬,” one person pointed out.
“Damn London and Bijan gonna end up being undraftable now,” one Fantasy manager stated.
“Falcons fired Arthur Smith for being too conservative with the offense now they’re about to hire Stefanski who runs the exact same style lmao make it make sense,” said one X user.
Stefanski is a two-time Coach of the Year winner, and many feel he was wasted at Cleveland and that the real reason for the team’s woes is owner Jimmy Haslam. Regardless, the coach also received a lot of criticism over his handling of Shedeur Sanders and his many questionable plays that ultimately cost the team.
Atlanta Falcons Likely To Sign Kevin Stefanski After Missing Out on John Harbaugh
As for the deal to bring Kevin Stefanski to Atlanta, a report from SNY’s Connor Hughes says it could go down as early as next week. This might mean that Atlanta is beating out the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans in the battle for the former Cleveland Browns head coach.
The Falcons also wanted former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, but he is reportedly signing with the New York Giants.
“With that, hearing Kevin Stefanski is favorite for Falcons job,” the report stated. “That was talk before: Whoever didn’t land Harbaugh would get Stefanski.”
Stefanski has already been interviewed by multiple teams, such as the Ravens, Titans, Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants, though the latter may have already dropped their offer after reportedly getting Harbaugh.
