Arch Manning Linked To Shedeur Sanders’ Cleveland Browns As Mary Kay Cabot Makes Bold Speculation

The Browns quarterback situation was among the most talked-about storylines in the 2025 NFL season, and things don’t seem to be changing anytime soon.

Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel’s quarterback competition was widely discussed during the season. While many fans wanted the ex-Colorado star to take center stage, others didn’t believe he was good enough.

Deion Sanders’ son didn’t get any first-team reps until Week 11, despite being the backup quarterback behind Gabriel. He eventually started seven games and ended the year with a 3-4 record, while also making a place for himself in the Pro Bowl.

Shedeur and Gabriel also faced competition from DeShaun Watson for the starting QB job, with fans demanding that the franchise draft a better QB.

During March 12’s episode of the “Orange and Brown Talk” podcast, Cleveland reporter Mary Kay Cabot hypothesized a plan the franchise might be brewing, which includes Texas QB Arch Manning and the 2027 NFL Draft.

“What if the better option in their minds is Arch Manning, LaNorris Sellers, or Dante Moore? What if the better option is in next year’s draft and therefore they’re willing not to state it outright, but what if they are willing to kind of wait for their guy, and that perhaps they wouldn’t be overly distraught if they don’t win a whole bunch of games this year?” Cabot said.

“The Browns believe Todd Monken and his offense and his coaching and playcalling will be really good for Shedeur. This is his moment to prove to everyone in the NFL that he is as legendary as he believes that he is,” Cabot said on a call with “92.3 The Fan” on Thursday.

New Browns HC Todd Monken’s Views on Shedeur Sanders

Many fans and analysts believe Kevin Stefanski was fired because of how he handled the QB situation and treated Shedeur Sanders. Individuals like Cam Newton claimed that the ex-Browns head coach was trying to sabotage the young QB’s rookie year.

Todd Monken has started things on the right foot with Shedeur and vice versa. The new head coach said at the beginning of his tenure that he was excited about the ex-Colorado QB and had more praise for him on February 25.

“I think what you see is elite playmaking ability,” Monken said at the combine. “That’s in him. You’ve seen it, we’ve seen it, you saw it in college, you saw it on tape last year.”

Monken added that while there is still a long way to go for Shedeur in terms of learning and growing like all the other rookies and first-year players, he was excited to work with him.
