Dianna Russini has been at the more stickier end of the situation after her pictures with Mike Vrabel from a luxurious resort in Arizona broke the internet.
The two were seen hugging, holding hands, chilling by the pool and spending time together in a hot tub, which aggravated fans as they are both married to other people and have two kids each.
While the Patriots head coach didn’t face much consequences except choosing to miss Day 3 of the draft and seek counselling, Russini had to resign from her job as The Athletic began an internal investigation.
Talking about what could be next for Russini and her job as a journalist, Barstool analyst, Dan “Big Cat” Katz said:
“I don’t know if she’d want to work with us,” Katz told Front Office Sports. “Because we’ve made some jokes, and I totally understand, but we have to make the jokes that we make. It sucks that she had to leave her job. I think a lot of it was her own doing.
“But we’re in a time now where you can be independent. She can start a Substack. She can start her own podcast. And if you are someone who has an audience or can break news, people will follow that.”
He continued:
“So, there is a second act somewhere for her. I don’t know exactly what it looks like. There’s just too many avenues that people can take, especially the independent route, and make a good living in the sports world, that I would be shocked if that was it for her.”
Pablo Torre Points Out New Details From Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini’s Alleged Affair
On the latest episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out, the analyst spoke about the Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini situation and shared that it might not have entirely been a secret in the NFL world.
The popular analyst added an interesting layer to the story and said Fox’s Jay Glazer was hosting a pool side party in Arizona during the league meetings and Russini attempted to organize a rival event.
Torre added that two people with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed it to him that Russini and Vrabel were at their rival Christmas party.
”It was Diana Russini. It was Mike Vrabel, among the cabanas, and a few other head coaches,” Torre said.
The analyst then said that the head coaches and their wives started talking about Vrabel and Russini, which was days before their pictures went viral, also sharing that their relationship was not breaking news to the people at the owners meetings.
