It is no secret that the Tom Brady co-owned Las Vegas Raiders are rebuilding their coaching squad as they prepare for the 2026 season. For that, they need a new head coach and they have set their sights on Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who is currently busy preparing for the Super Bowl.
The Seahawks have been a great defensive team, and under Kubiak, its offense managed to match that defensive intensity.
With the Raiders wanting to lure out Klint Kubiak from his current job with the Seahawks, The Athletic’s Ted Nguyen says that it will take a lot of money to do so, as well as having him believe in a future with the team’s probable No. 1 pick for the draft in Fernando Mendoza.
“At this point, Kubiak has all of the leverage. Also, the Raiders have to make him a grandfather offer to make any thoughts of staying in Seattle go away. The deal is going to be record breaking and likely by a margin too. Ultimately, it’ll be about selling franchise stability with Brady in the fold and how much Kubiak believes in Mendoza– How much film has he watched while prepping in the post season?” Nguyen wrote.
How much money that will be is still up for debate, especially with the Raiders also competing with the Arizona Cardinals to get the Seahawks OC as their new head coach.
However, it should be noted that no matter who the candidate is, Las Vegas may not be an attractive place to work for, especially as the team never had a coach last for more than two seasons since moving to Sin City.
Report: Klint Kubiak Prefers Raiders Over Cardinals
As for which team Klint Kubiak prefers should he leave Seattle, ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler believes he wants to go to Vegas.
Fowler claimed that he has been talking with people around the league and found that the Seahawks OC prefers the Raiders job over the Cardinals.
However, it is still unclear if he would want to leave Seattle. He added that it would be difficult to make him move out of the Northwest, especially as he just settled there, but possible No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza could change his mind.
