De’Von Achane is about the only offensive weapon left on the Miami Dolphins right now after their haul of getting rid of players this offseason.
The Dolphins released key offensive free agents in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Today, the Dolphins continued their rebuild by trading star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos in exchange for first, third, and fourth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
With Waddle gone, the belief around the league is that Achane is still a trade candidate and could be the next Dolphin traded.
Achane will be playing this upcoming season on the final deal of his rookie contract and is set to become a free agent next offseason. In his three seasons in the NFL, Achane has rushed for 3,057 yards, 22 touchdowns, 172 receptions, 1,277 yards, and 13 receiving touchdowns.
Miami Could Add To Its High Draft Pick Total If They Trade De’Von Achane
At this point, it seems as if anyone on the Miami Dolphins could be traded. It would be no surprise if De’Von Achane is next.
Achane, as mentioned above, is in his final year of his rookie contract. The Dolphins could play him and let him walk in free agency next offseason and pick up a compensatory pick. Or, they could trade at before this year’s trade deadline and stock up on their 2026 draft picks.
After the Jaylen Waddle trade, the Dolphins are up to 11 draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. They hold two first-round picks, four third-round picks, and a pair of seventh-round picks.
It’s unclear how much trade value the Dolphins would get in return for Achane, whether they can get up to a first-round pick or multiple picks including a second or third-round pick.
If Miami is still focused on their future, then Achane will likely be traded this offseason.
