The New York Giants will have to continue searching for a new offensive coordinator after head coach John Harbaugh’s offensive coordinator at the Baltimore Ravens, Todd Monken, has been hired as the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns. It was previously believed that Monken would follow and join Harbaugh as the Giants’ offensive coordinator.

In the aftermath of this hiring, the Giants will hope to sign the following candidates before they also sign somewhere else.

5 Giants OC Candidates After Browns Hired Todd Monken

    1) Davis Webb

Webb is the offensive pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Denver Broncos. He was part of the Broncos unit that went to the AFC Championship game, where the New England Patriots defeated them 10-7.

Webb is related to the Giants, since the franchise drafted the former quarterback in 2017. The Giants have requested permission to interview him for the OC position, meaning he has drawn interest from John Harbaugh for the possible opportunity.

    2) Charlie Weis Jr.

Whoever joins the Giants as offensive coordinator needs to form a good rapport with their emerging quarterback, Jaxson Dart. Who better than Charlie Weis Jr in that scenario since he worked with the quarterback during his time with the Ole Miss Rebels. His familiarity with Dart’s playing style makes him an appealing candidate for the Giants.

    3) Nate Scheelhaase

Among the offensive assistants in the NFL, Los Angeles Rams passing coordinator Nate Scheelhasse’s profile stands out. He has already interviewed for several teams for the head coach role and has even received consideration to become a head coach.

He was among the finalists for the Browns head coach role and teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens have also chased him.

    4) Tee Martin

The Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach shares a good relationship with the current head coach of the Giants, John Harbaugh. He joined the Ravens in 2023 and has experienced handling offensive stars like Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.

With USC, he previously worked as offensive coordinator. His skill set could suit a young quarterback-driven offense.

    5) Willie Taggart

Taggart has already followed John Harbaugh to the Giants’ running backs coach position. Harbaugh could trust him with the opportunity to run the offense as well, in case he doesn’t find someone more deserving.

Taggart has plenty of experience in college football and he was also the assistant head coach with the Ravens under Harbaugh.
