Trevon Diggs Free Agency: Top 3 Destinations For Former Cowboys CB

It’s been an interesting season for cornerback Trevon Diggs this past year, and his weird season continued today by being released by the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers signed Diggs as a free agent on Dec. 31, 2025, a day after the Dallas Cowboys unexpectedly released him. The Packers ended up paying Diggs $531,045 for 34 days and free up $15.5 million in cap space, with no dead cap space.

Diggs was active for 34 plays on defense in Green Bay’s regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings, but played just one snap in the team’s postseason loss to the Chicago Bears.

With Diggs released, let’s take a look at three teams that could take a flier on him for the 2026 season:

Top 3 Destinations For Trevon Diggs In 2026

    -New York Jets

The New York Jets made history last season by becoming the first team to not record a single interception in a season since interceptions were tracked dating back to the 1933 season. While Diggs isn’t what he once was five years ago, where he recorded 11 interceptions in a season, if he has any ounce left of his potential, he could help the Jets out in that category.

The Jets also gave up 36 passing touchdowns, the most in the NFL last season, indicating that they need a ton of help in its secondary.

    -Washington Commanders

Like the New York Jets, the Washington Commanders‘ secondary struggled this past season. They gave up the fifth-most passing yards per game (242.5) and were tied for giving up the third most passing touchdowns (33.)

Playing in the NFC East for all but a month-plus, Diggs could look to join an NFC East team to face his former team, the Dallas Cowboys twice a year.

    -Baltimore Ravens

Unlike the other two teams, the Ravens’ secondary is actually one of the better ones in the NFL. Still, adding a guy like Trevon Diggs for them this offseason wouldn’t be the biggest surprise. In recent years, the Ravens took gambles by adding veterans such as Jaire Alexander and Tony Jefferson.

The Ravens only have one free agent corner this offseason (Chidobe Awuzie) and could look to add to its secondary by adding a veteran like Diggs.
