Well, John Harbaugh has found a new job. The former Baltimore Ravens head coach has been announced as the New York Giants’ new boss. He’s taking over the team a few months after the front office kicked Brian Daboll out after an extremely disappointing 2025 season.
As the first pictures of Harbaugh walking through the Giants’ facilities came up, something was made pretty evident. His wife Ingrid is truly invested in the move, as she can be seen in almost all the pictures the team posted to their Instagram account. In the photo carousel, the coach can also be seen hanging out with New York Giants’ general manager Joe Schoen.
Ingrid and John Harbaugh met back at the start of the latter’s coaching journey. John Harbaugh was a graduate assistant football coach at Western Michigan under his father, Jack Harbaugh. Ingrid worked for the team baseball office as an undergraduate student. That was in 1985. They would later get married in 1991.
President Donald Trump Supports The New York Giants’ Decision To Hire John Harbaugh
President Donald Trump was in attendance at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for the national championship game between the Miami Hurricanes and the Indiana Hoosiers, which led to the latter’s first-ever national title.
The President holds strong opinions about sport, because when he was about to board Air Force One and head back to Washington, D.C., he spoke with members of the press on the tarmac about the merits of the Giants’ decision to hire John Harbaugh.
“But they got a great coach,” Trump said. “I like the coach. I like his brother. They came up to see me about three months ago. They came up to see me in the White House with their mother and father because the mother likes me, and the father likes me and I think they like me.
“And he’s a great coach and he’s gonna do well with the Giants, just like his brother does so well. They got something very special in their blood. And I’m happy for the Giants. They got a great coach,” he added.
Trump had already expressed his support for John Harbaugh becoming New York’s next head coach shortly after he first interviewed for the job, having encouraged the front office to hire him. It seems he has gotten his wish, and the Giants have gotten one of two Super Bowl-winning coaches available in this coaching market.
