Two Glaring Luka Doncic Flaws Brutally Pointed Out by Analyst After Crushing Loss to Orlando Magic

Luka Doncic and Co. had a sloppy ending to the inter-conference matchup with the Orlando Magic and suffered a close loss, 109-110. The Lakers have now lost back-to-back inter-conference matchups against the Boston Celtics and the Magic. NBA analyst Tim MacMohan highlighted a couple of loopholes in Doncic’s style of play after the Lakers’ crushing defeat.

The 2018-19 Rookie of the Year has led the team and the season in scoring, but the Lakers’ journey has not been smooth thus far. They haven’t enjoyed extended undefeated runs, and that has been criticized by fans and analysts.

Highlighting Doncic’s “major flaws” in a conversation with other analysts on GetUp ESPN, MacMohan said:

“Luka’s had two glaring flaws throughout the course of his career: conditioning and crying. … He’s crying as much as he ever has… I talked to a lot of people who have coached and played with him. What I can tell you is Luka vents his frustration on the referees.”

The Lakers’ bench situation is still real, even though Luke Kennard has added much-needed shooting off the bench. Meanwhile, the foul baiting technique by a few players has been regularly called out by fans and analysts.

There have been a lot of talks about who should have taken the game-winning shot between Doncic and LeBron James. Even head coach JJ Redick gave his take on the debate.

JJ Redick opens up about Luka Doncic not taking the final shot

In the final minutes, head coach JJ Redick ran a play for the superstar Luka Doncic to try to register a win. However, the former Mavericks guard was closed out by the Magic’s defense, leading to a pass to King James, but he could not score.

After the Lakers’ loss to the Magic in the final minutes, head coach Redick said:

“I haven’t had a chance to get into it with Luka. We obviously ran a play for him to get a look. I felt like we had a decent shot.”

Doncic and James have led the team to sixth in the Western Conference. With Austin Reaves back on the roster, the three have shown chemistry. However, as analysts mentioned, the Lakers’ major issues are their defense and a lack of bench points.
