LeBron James’ longevity has been one of the most discussed topics in the NBA world. After 23 seasons in the league, King James is still performing at a high level and leading the LA Lakers. However, the big question is: Till when? LBJ provided a major update on his future in the league.
James addressed the media before his 22nd NBA All-Star Game appearance and was candid about his time in the NBA. He said:
“I wanna live. When I know, you guys’ll know. I dnt know, I have no idea. Just wanna live thats all.”
LBJ’s heart is surely beating for now when it comes to his hoopin’ abilities. He is averaging 22 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 7.1 assists, and helps Luka Doncic in spacing the offense. His contribution has been especially valuable in the absence of Luka Doncic or Austin Reaves.
James is all set to compete in another All-Star game after he was named a reserve for the Western Conference. Besides, he is also supportive of the younger generation and doesn’t hesitate to motivate them.
LeBron James praises Deni Avdija for “exceptional season”
Deni Avdija got his first All-Star nod after a stellar season, leading the Houston Rockets in rebounds and assists per game. When asked about his All-Star selection this season, LeBron James said:
“They asked me what I thought about the season. I said I believe he was an All-Star — and I mean, he was an All-Star. He’s playing exceptional basketball. So that’s that.”
Even after LBJ decides to hang up his sneakers, the league is already in transition, as young players like Anthony Edwards and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have presented their case to become the face of the league.
Deni Avdija is also one of the contenders, even though he has been subjected to criticism from fans due to his native country. The Israeli forward might be relieved after receiving a nod from one of the legends of the NBA.
